Playing Catch Up

I'm a bit behind on blogging so I'll have a few new posts up here in the next couple days.

Way back in Sep (or end of Aug possibly?) we had a fun progressive dinner with my family. We started at the Skeen's and had an appetizer- a yummy salad and bread. Then we headed to the Searle's for the main meal- a potato bar. We helped Carol put together some packets for her kindergarten class. Then we headed to my parents for dessert- an Oreo truffle and some beach volleyball. It was so great to see everyone and it was a fun night.

For Labor day this year we were at the cabin with Brad's family. We went up on sunday and stayed until monday afternoon. We had fun going on 4-wheeler rides, eating yummy food, watching home videos, playing skunk, going on walks and relaxing. The only bummer part was that Brad didn't feel the greatest and didn't feel like doing anything but lay in bed all Monday morning.

Brad left to go to Peru for an internship for 3 months on September 5th. He is there with another couple, Dani and Derek. I am going down on November 6th to spend the last month with him. He teaches 3 phases of business classes in Spanish and by the end of it they will have a working business pan that will be presented to a board of investors. If the plan is good enough, it is approved and they are given a loan to start their business. The company he works for is called Danper. He has a lot of free time since he only teaches one, or two classes a day starting at about 5pm. (Not what we were expecting and part of the reason I did not go down the whole time) Since they do not have any appliances in their kitchen besides a small fridge, they go out to eat for lunch and dinner everyday. It's only about $2 a meal there so it is worth it! Some fun things they have done are: sandboarding (just like snowboarding but on sand), going to the beach, going to the mall, seeing some ancient Pyramids, and playing soccer. He has been enjoying his days there but is excited for me to get there so he does not have to be the 3rd wheel all of the time!
(Sorry for the poor quality picture)

We had a sushi night with the Bundy's and I must say, being a non lover for any kind of fish, it wasn't all that bad. It was not my favorite thing ever but I didn't hate it. We all made our own and it was cool to see how they are made. It was tough to make them tight enough to not make them spill out when we cooked them.

We had a cookout up the Canyon one night with my family, Skeen's, Bundy's and Peterson boys. I met up with everyone after work as they were finishing up a scavenger hunt. We had tin foil dinners, and had a fhe lesson.

I helped host a baby shower for my friend, Shelynne with my friend Kristina. Shelynne did not find out what she was having so our theme was pink/blue. We had lunch and played some fun games- pinterest inspired. I'm so excited for her and her new little family (she had a girl)

I went with the Eliason's (who I nanny for now) to the Vivint back-end party. I left work early on Friday and we headed to Park City to our (very nice) hotel. Mindi and Nick had a managers meeting so I stayed and watched the girls. The next day was the Carnival. It was fun to see some friends from last year and the year before. They had a show with motorcycles and razors and then ended the night with fireworks.

I helped the other girl I nanny for take pictures of her darling kids. It was pretty tricky to get them all looking and smiling but we got a couple cute ones.

Our Halloween carnival for All About Kids was disney themed this year. Each classroom was a different disney movie and we had to bring in a disney pumpkin. We did Monster's Inc in our class and did monster crafts and tatoo's.

We had a fun night at the Bundy's, eating dinner and playing Jenga.

That's all for now folks.. more to come later

Finally! Don't ever make me wait that long for a post ever again. :) jk. I'm glad you've been keeping busy since Brad left and what a bummer that he has so much free time!! Only one more week until you get to see him!! I can't wait to see/hear all about it! I love all the costume and kid related halloween things... Holidays like this always seem more fun when kids are involved.

Oh my-this post is full of fun stuff! You worked so hard on your costume and pumpkin and it shows because they are SO darling. It's going to be weird w/o you when you go to Peru because now I'm used to having you around all the time again :( Great job on everything you've been doing to keep busy and productive while Brad's been gone.
