Blog or Instagram?

I need your opinion! (If there is anyone here that reads this) I started a second Instagram where I post all my pictures. I'm trying to decide if I should keep doing that, or go back to blogging?? You are welcome to follow my other Insta, but just know that I post a lot of pictures all at once.

Chicago

Since we would be spending our summer in Kentucky, we decided to stop in Chicago on our drive out. It was only about a 2 hour detour.. total. Neither of us had ever been to Chicago, so we thought it would be fun! Plus, it would be a bonus if we got to run into Cam! We spent Friday and Saturday driving a total of 20 hours and 1400 miles. We got to Chicago Saturday night and got checked into our hotel and then went to dinner at PF Chang's, and to Charming Charlie.

We spent Sunday exploring the city. We went to Millennium Park and saw the bean, went to Navy Pier and rode the ferris wheel, had Chicago-style hot dogs for lunch, checked out the Willis (also known as Sears) Tower but didn't go to the top, did a little shopping at the Water Tower Place, and ate dinner at Giordano's and got Chicago-style pizza. It was a very fun, eventful day!

Monday, I emailed Cam to see what his plan was for the day. He thought he would be going downtown, so my plan was to figure out where he was going and try to run into him there. When he emailed, he said that he wouldn't be going downtown anymore and that he was going to meet some other missionaries at a church close to downtown, and then go to a shopping center. So, we searched the closest church to us and waited in the parking lot for about 5-10 minutes. A car with two missionaries pulled up next to us and asked if we were from Utah (they saw our plates) and asked what we were doing there. When we told them we were looking for my brother, Elder Jensen, one of them said, oh Cam? Come to find out, he had just been on exchanges with him a few days prior! So they called up Cam's companion and found out that they were on their way to that church! So we went inside with those missionaries and waited for Cam. He was surprised to see us there, but he had seen our car in the parking lot, so knew we were around SOMEWHERE.. just didn't think we would be IN the church. It was so awesome to see him and we got to hang out with him for about an hour! This church is where they email on pdays, so there were a bunch of other missionaries there as well. I'm so glad it worked out to 'run into him'! :) Luckily, we didn't make him too homesick or sad when we left. We left for Kentucky right after that, which is only 4.5 hours away!

March

Kylee and Brody wanted to go skiing in Colorado while they were living there, so Brad and I agreed to drive out there to watch Evan so they could go. We drove to Fort Collins on Saturday and spent the night there. Then on Sunday, we drove with the Hatches to Steamboat Springs, CO. We spent the day exploring a little, and playing games in our hotel. Kylee and Brody went skiing on Monday, while we stayed at the hotel to watch Evan. He is such a cute, happy little dude and we had so much fun with him! We went out to eat, and played many rounds of rook and hearts, and just enjoyed the cool city before leaving on Tuesday morning. We hung out at the Hatches that night, then headed home the next morning.

Von invited all her sisters and nieces to join in on her 60th birthday celebration. My mom's cousin offered us their beautiful (second) home in Provo for the weekend and it was fabulous! We had a great time going out to eat, going to the art museum, making a craft, going for walks, going shopping and spending time together. Rick joined us the last day and treated us all to a yummy lunch at a Thai Drift place.

It was time for me to get in another wreck. They seem to happen to me about every two years. I was on my way to nanny in Smithfield and got in the turning lane to turn left onto their street and was waiting for the cars coming the opposite direction. The lady coming from the other side of the street, coming onto main street was going to wait in the turning lane as well and apparently she didn't see me. Luckily happened about two weeks before we left for the summer and it was able to get fixed before we needed to leave.

Kylee and Evan came for a visit the week of Spring Break. It was so fun having them around and we did some fun things while they were here including feeding the ducks, dinner with Gma and Gpa Weyerts, jumped on the tramp, went on a hike, attended women's conference, and played card games.

The Bundy's and Densley's came over on Sunday and it was so fun to see Evan and Shep together. They just so happened to be in matching outfits!

February

We babysat the Jenkin kids overnight and all of the kids loved Brad. We had an extremely warm winter this year, so we were able to go and play at the park. It was awesome!

Our friends, Nick and Mikell, had a fun couples Valentine Party. We had some appetizers, followed by some intense games of boys vs. girls. Everyone wrote a wish on a piece of paper at the beginning of the night and if the boys won, the girls had to grant them their wish and visa versa. It made it fun and competitive! Each couple got drawn to do a little competition, plus we had a few team competitions. Brad and I got picked to see who could get dressed as the opposite gender the fastest. The girls ended up winning so I got a 20 minute back massage! :)

We got to go to Braxten's birthday party. I can't believe that little cutie is already 3! We missed Carter's birthday the month before, so we brought his present as well.. matching shirts and some books.

We decided to take a little girls trip (+ Evan) to Arizona to visit friends and family. We were only there for two and a half days, so it was just a short little trip, but we were able to pack in a lot of fun things while we were there. We visited with the Frosts (and saw their new puppies), Hoffmans, Paul and Denae and the Robertson's. We also swam in the hotel pool, saw the new Gilbert temple, got Bahama Bucks, did some shopping, and played card games. I hope we can make this a tradition, it was so much fun!

For Brad's birthday, he decided he wanted to keep the tradition of going to Texas Roadhouse for dinner. This year, it was just the two of us that went. It was so great to spend some quality time with each other. We also celebrated the night before with my parents and the Bundy's. My mom made him sweet pork burritos, he opened all his presents and we had his choice of brownies for dessert.

January

We kept up our tradition of going snowshoeing for the third year in a row. Brad was on a preseason trip in California, but we enjoyed having Brody and Evan join us this year. There wasn't much snow, so we ended up ditching our snowshoes about half way up and just hiked the rest of the way. It was fun and such a beautiful day!

We spent the weekend at the cabin with Brad's family and had a great time! We saw the best sunset on the way home!
