October was another busy month filled with lots of fun things. Brad went to Vivint one day to pick up all of his prizes he won during the summer. Can you believe all the stuff he brought home? My favorite is the soft, cozy, chevron blanket. He also got, multiple hats and shirts, a jacket, shoes, 2 watches, luggage, carry on, backpack, wakeboard, cat haddy, beanie, ear buds, wallet, keychain, and wrist bands. All, of course, which say vivint on it. I love his job and am so thankful for all that they do for us!
Speaking of how great Vivint is and all the opportunities they give us- they had Imagine Dragons come for a concert, everyone who works for Vivint got to come for free, and also got $8 worth of concessions. The concert was amazing- I really love Imagine Dragons! The whole Energy Solutions Arena was filled, so we didn't get great seats, but it was still a good time. Brad and I also got VIP passes where we were told that we would get to have dinner with the band! I was so excited, but unfortunately it just turned out to be dinner- which was still really great. Vivint decided to have this be our Year End party instead of our annual one where we wear fancy dresses, which in my opinion, was much better! They had multiple bags of balloons that were filled with money that they had attached to the ceiling of the Energy Solutions Arena and then they let them all out during the middle of the concert. It was pretty awesome, even though we didn't get anything.
Before Stacie moved to Minnesota, I had her cut my hair and do something fun and different. She gave me some bangs, and did an ombre (the end of my hair is lighter). I really love the way it looks, and will miss having Stacie around to cut my hair! So.... what's your opinion?? Keep my bangs, or grow them out?
before during after
These four boys went to Priesthood, and dinner together while Lindsey, mom and I went to dinner, shopping and to get ice-cream.
Conference this year was as great as ever. We went to Willard on Sunday to watch the morning session with the Wheelwrights, then to my parents for the afternoon session. Then we went to Grandmas for dinner and a goodbye party for the Nelsons. :(
Just a few more activities I've done with the Hess kids while nannying this month. Making cookies, painting nails, going on lots of walks, taking silly pictures on my phone, building forts, playing in the leaves, dressing up for Halloween and putting a penny on the railroad tracks and then going back later to get them after they had been run over. (My dad used to take us kids to do this when we were little, but the pennies would always be gone when we went back, so I was pretty excited when we found our pennies this time.)
The Nelsen's went to Lagoon as a last little birthday celebration for Jaxon before they left, and we decided to tag along. It was frightmares and we had so much fun! Even with the creepy guys that were walking around scaring everybody. We sure will miss this family!
I went with Mikell and Becky to Tamires wedding luncheon and reception. It was so fun to see the beautiful bride and hang out with friends.
Grandma and the Searles came over for dinner and games one night.
And... this is why Fall is the BEST!!!!
We had our annual Halloween Party this year at my parents house. I set up a little photo booth so we could take pictures of everybody. I had everybody bring a pumpkin and an appetizer or treat and then we voted on who's was the best.
Andy won the best costume. He is flash- the one in the bottom right, in the yellow. The costume is great and all, but what made him be the winner is that he MADE it himself!!
Tooth and Tooth Fairy (Brad and Jess), Waluigi and Mario (Derrick and Kelsey), Robbers and their bag of money (Mikell, Paizley and Nick), Adelita and Mariachi (Mariana and Luke), a Gypsy and a Nerd (Bailey and Dallen), Tourists (Sam and Karen) and a Wizard, Waluigi, Tooth, a Price is Right contestant, and Flash (BJ, Derrick, Brad, Jason, Andy)
The Vampire Teeth won this contest
Brad and I made the Hamburger pumpkin. The winner for this contest was the Spiderman one.
The whole group..
And one more of baby Paizley, just because she is so cute!
We hiked Crimson Trail with my parents and Cam. Neither Brad nor I had done that hike before and we both loved it! Unfortunately, we barely missed all the beautiful fall colors, but there were still a few trees for us to enjoy.
The Bundy's came over for dinner one Sunday. We had dinner, roasted marshmallows, then they did a cool science experiment. They made bubbles out of dry ice that you could hold in your hand. They were pretty awesome!
I was not a happy girl with the first sight of snow. Luckily it didn't stay long, and didn't come back for a long while.
Took those Hess kids to the Pumpkin Walk. Their favorite part? The things at the end that you can put your head in. I'm always so impressed with all of the scenes at the Pumpkin Walk, but my favorite this year was probably Horton Hears a Who. That Elephant was just so great!
Brad did the job of raking the leaves. Wow, that is a lot of leaves!! I came over with the Hess' after and the kids helped us put the leaves in the bags. They thought it was fun, even though they weren't really helping too much.
This month we bought a new snowmobile and a new car!! Brad's been anxiously waiting for the snow to come so that he can ride his new snowmobile. And I absolutely love our new car! We traded in our old one and got a Chevy Cruz. My favorite features of this car are: seat warmers, bluetooth so we can play music through our phone wirelessly, better gas mileage and a remote start!
