Get ready for a really long post with lots of pictures...
On Sundays, we usually go to the pool and hang out with friends. The guys also love playing bocce ball in the 'grassy' area. One Sunday, while us girls were watching bachelorette, they went to a park to play for money. And.... Brad won $100! :)
I really do love when we have storms here even though it can be a little scary sometimes, since we get a lot of tornado warnings. But, I'm just glad that they usually happen while Brad is home.
As I mentioned in my last post, Vivint always does competitions for the wives. This month wasn't really a competition, but they asked us to do some sort of service and anybody that participated gets a shirt. Our stake was going to be bagging potatoes at the local food bank, so we decided to go help with that and have it count as our service. So it was perfect, and all we had to do was show up and help.
My friend, Kourtney, asked me if she could take me to lunch for my birthday. When we got to Chipotle, the rest of the wives were there to surprise me! I don't think I have ever had a surprise like that before, so it was really fun! We did a little shopping after, then Brad met up with me to get a Bahama Bucks. (I got birthday cake flavor- which is one of my favorites!) I picked up Olive Garden for dinner, and it sure was delicious!
Kourtney and I decided we wanted to celebrate Fathers day... even though our hubby's aren't fathers yet. So, we surprised them with a candlelit lunch and a few little gifts. We spent the week making the pictures with the sayings on them, which we thought were going to turn out so cool. Turns out, they didn't look as good as we thought they would. But, it's the thought that counts right? And, the guys loved the surprise, so it was worth it! We even moved the couch up close to the TV so it would be all ready for them to play Call of Duty. :)
COLORADO/UTAH TRIP
My friends (Kourtney and Rose) and I decided we wanted to go home for a little bit. It just so happened that my mom was going to see Kylee at the same time Rose's friend was getting married, so it was perfect timing. We drove up to Fort Collins on Tuesday, June 17th and spent the night with Kylee. (Brody was in Switzerland)
Wednesday: Kourtney and Rose left to go to Utah and I stayed at Kylee's and helped her do some yard work. My mom called both of us to tell us that Cam got his mission call, a week before they were thinking, and wondered if we could skype to see him open it. I hadn't told my mom I was coming, because I wanted to surprise her. (Yes, i guess it has become a tradition now, since I seem to do almost every year! :)) So I found a blank wall at Kylee's house and just stood there to skype and Kylee went on the porch so that they wouldn't know we were together. Cam got called to the Chicago, Illinois Mission- Spanish speaking and leaves on November 5th for the Mexico MTC! I am so excited for him, I know he is going to be a great missionary! I sure will miss him though! We watched some shows and went on a walk, then we drove to Denver to go pick up my mom from the airport. As we were driving to the airport, a big storm rolled in. We got to the airport at 7:30 (10 minutes after her arrival time) and hadn't heard from my mom yet, and she didn't answer her phone. We were a little worried, but figured it was just because of the storm. After an hour of waiting, Kylee finally got a text from her saying they had landed, but in Colorado Springs. They were going to wait there until the storm cleared. So, Kylee and I went inside and had some dinner. My mom called at about 10:30 to say she had finally landed in Denver. I got in the very back of Kylee's subaru and hid under a blanket. When my mom was talking to Kylee to tell her where she was, she kept saying we... 'ok, we will meet you outside' and so we were trying to figure out who was with her. We thought maybe she was going to surprise Kylee with someone, we just didn't know who it would be! I was surprised to hear the voice of a stranger get in the car... Turns out my mom started talking to a Chinese guy that was sitting next to her on the plane. They talked for a while about a lot of things (including the church) and she offered him a ride home, but didn't bother to tell Kylee about it. So, I stayed in the back, trying not to move or make noise so he didn't see/hear me, for ONE HOUR until they dropped him off! I was pretty dang hot and my hips were numb, but I guess it made for a good story! After he left, I quietly got up, reached across the seat and grabbed my mom's shoulders. She had just taken a bite of her sandwich, so she didn't scream, but she was super surprised!! We didn't get home till 1:30.
Thursday: We went to a yummy mexican place for lunch, went grocery shopping and helped Kylee organize the Nursery. We went to this most amazing dessert place ever after dinner!! We got 3 desserts and shared them all. I couldn't pick my favorite.
Friday: My mom and I helped Kylee deep clean her house, then we ran some errands to get some things for the Nursery. Kylee's friends gave her the cutest shower themed baby shower. I'm glad that it just so happened to be on a day that we were there.
Saturday: We went on a walk/hike, made a yummy lunch, then went to the movie 'How to Train Your Dragon 2'. We ran some more errands, did a little shopping, went to dinner at Moe's Original BBQ, got some frozen yogurt, and watched Black Fish at home.
Sunday: We went to church with Ky, went on a walk (actually 2), worked on the Nursery a little, and just had a relaxing day at home.
Monday: We went to a really delicious breakfast place called Snooze. Then we spent the rest of the day running errands, working some more on the Nursery, making pizza for dinner, going on a walk and cleaning Kylee's house.
Tuesday: We drove to Logan and got there by about 6. We made great time, considering we had an 8 month pregnant girl with us that needed to get out and go to the bathroom at least every 2 hours. The Bundy's invited us to go up the canyon with them to roast hot dogs. We saw the cutest baby ducks there!
Wednesday: I went to see Mikell and talked to her for about an hour. My mom, Kylee and I went for a walk and then went to lunch with Grandma and Stacie- who was also in town. Lydia turned 5 and her birthday party theme was based on her favorite movie- Phantom of the Opera. Lindsey outdid herself, as usual. I got to meet sweet baby Breckon. Lydia is the sweetest little girl and I can't believe she is already 5! I love her so much!
Thursday: I went to Zumba, then went on a walk with my mom and Kylee. We went to the temple, along with my dad, then we went to get some amazing shaved ice. It's not quite as good as Bahama Bucks, but it is a close second! Again, we got 3 different kinds and shared them all. Grandma Mary came over for dinner, then we went on a walk and watched a movie.
Friday: Brad and I have been thinking about buying a house. So, I went with my realtor, sister and mom to look at some houses in Nibley and Providence. I met up with Mindi and her girls at Twizzleberry after lunch. It was so great seeing them all, I sure do miss hanging out with them all summer! I also went to see Kelsey and Jett and it was great to see them as well.
Saturday: My parents have had this squirrel problem for a few weeks. The squirrel chewed on a pillow, towel and blanket that was in their backyard. (The blanket was so bad, it had to be thrown away) Who knew squirrels liked to eat material?? They had a trap out with some peanut butter in it and the squirrel got the peanut butter without getting trapped about 3 times! Finally, the little guy got trapped on Saturday! They took him up the canyon to let him out while I went to go see the Hess' and Kristina, her baby and her new house. Then it was back to Texas for me. My friends picked me up and we spent the night at Kylee's again We left early on Sunday and got to Texas around 6. It was such a great trip and I'm glad I went!

What a great recap! You had a fun-filled month- as did I! I'm so glad we got to spend over a third of it together- especially so since I didn't think I would be seeing you at all! You are great at the surprises, and I've decided I'm not going to try to figure out when/if you will surprise me next- I'll just enjoy it WHEN it happens! You really outdid yourself this time--- with a little unsuspecting help from me :)Thanks again for the great surprise, and for all your help in Ft. Collins. You're the best!
Wow! What a month! I love the picture of you and 3 other wives in the first collage. Those storm pictures are awesome! Storms are the coolest. Your birthday sounds like a lot of fun and I'm glad you got a surprise of your own! That's cute what you did for the guys for Father's Day. I still can't believe how much you and mom did for me while you were here. I don't even have the words to thank you for everything! I'm SOOO glad it worked out for you to come at the same time as mom!
Jess you should have called me while you were waiting for your mom at the airport! I seriously live 10 mins away. I would have loved to see you girls! Gosh that makes me sad we were so close and we didn't even know. We sure miss hanging out with you and Brad.

How did you fit everything in?! This post must have taken you forever!! I love all the photos. You are THE most gorgeous, photogenic girl I know. Seriously. Those thunderstorms and rainc louds and lightening are unbelievable! Did you take those photos? My favorite photo in all of this is the one of you, Cam, Kylee and my girls down by the lake. YOU look like a little midget dwarf, it's comical. Go look at it again. You look like a munchkin! I love it!! I can't wait to have you guys back home! Lets do something together every week!!
