For those of you who don't know, we moved to Amarillo last Sunday. The team that was here before left and there was still a lot of great area. Brad's manager thought they would do well, and they have. However, the area is not as fun as Houston and our apartments are not as new. Since there was another team here before us, we took over their apartments and they did not get cleaned. They were pretty nasty so we spent all of last Sunday cleaning it.
I need to give a shout out to Brad. He got his best week ever last week. His boss gave him an incentive and told him if he could get 12 in one week, (he's never gotten more than 9) he would give him a mountain bike of his choice. He did it!! I'm so proud of him. He has also never gotten more than 3 in a day and he got 4 on Saturday. He is one amazing man and I love him.
Sunday we had the coolest thunderstorm ever. Have you ever tried to take out a picture of lightning? It's not as easy as it looks, but it is easier when there is lightning about every 5 seconds. We got some pretty sweet pictures before it started pouring.
4TH OF JULY
Since today was like a Saturday for the boys, I had some extra time to make a few desserts. My friend, Meagan, and I went to watch a lazar/water show at a nearby park. Since it is so dry here, and there have been too many fires, they were not allowed to do fireworks. I was really bummed, because what's the fourth of july without fireworks?! But I guess I can count the lightning the night before as our fireworks show. We went a few hours early and sat on our blanket and talked. It was fun to catch up with her, since she has been in Logan for a few weeks. The boys were able to get off early and made it in time for the show. However, it was a major let down. No water, just lazars flashing to music. Needless to say, we only stayed for about 5 minutes. We came home and had pancakes with strawberries and blueberries.
Picture a little blurry :(

I love 'Amarillo by Morning'!! And the thunderstorms there are second to none. You should go to the Amarillo 2nd ward and find the Masseys and Bairds. They are still close friends of ours. Or is it the 3rd ward now? I will have to find out!!
Proud of Brad. Give him a highfive for me! Loved your yummy looking desserts. You are such a good nester:)
Sounds like you had a great 4th!! Well, as good as you can without fireworks. But I would for sure say that lightening storm was just a cool! I've always wanted to take a picture of lightening... And that's so awesome Brad made his goal! Now he and Brody can go mt. biking together!
Yay- I can now picture where you are. Thanks for those apt picts. Congrats again to Brad for a great week. What a guy! I loved all your 4th of July food. Good job. Were the oreo pops easy to do? Love the lightning pictures. I well remember thunderstorms when I used to visit the Skeens in Amarillo. And I love the song Amarillo by morning by George Strait!
I LOVE Bahama bucks too and am so glad you're enjoying their wonderful shaved ice. Way to go Brad on the selling too!
Looks like you two are staying busy and having some fun in the process. Keep up the good work!
Fourth of july outside of utah pretty much sucks huh? That lightening was awesome. I've never gotten a photo of that. So excited that brad got twelve, that's definitely worth the move up there huh? I'm way jealous of all your fourth of july treats, I need to bake more. Keep up the darling posts.
I didn't know you were in Amarillo. I actually hated living there at the time because the Baptist kids were so mean to me. I was one of 4 Mormons in my school and there wasn't a lot of love. But the people I know from there in the church are wonderful. There are probably other good people there by now. ;) You'll have to go to Wonderland Amusement park if it is still there and let me know how it compares to Lagoon.
