July

Kourtney and I were feeling very ambitious and festive and decided to make four different Fourth of July treats. We made red and blue star shaped rice krispy treats, red and blue oreo pops, cupcakes with a star inside and pop rocks on top, and muddy buddies. We tried to make the muddy buddies red and blue, but it didn't turn out.
We had heard that there were going to be some fireworks on the Buffalo Springs Lake (about 20 minutes away) and that they were going to be the best fireworks in Lubbock, and twice as good as last year. So we went early to save us all a spot. We tried to go in the lake, but then decided against it because it was way too crowded, plus it is all gated so you had to pay to get in. The fireworks were really kind of lame, to be honest. And they didn't last very long, so we were really disappointed. Maybe they would have been better had we been in the lake- who knows. But we brought our treats and everybody loved those! :)
On the morning of the Fourth of July, Kourtney and I went with Laurel and Henry to the parade near campus.

Nick asked me to do all of the grocery shopping for him for the Fourth of July barbeque. So, I had Kourtney and Rose help me get everything we needed, and I also made some pasta salad. The guys got home around 6:00 and then we headed to a baseball diamond parking lot to meet up with the rest of the team. We had our BBQ, the guys played a little baseball and then we lit a ton of fireworks. It was a great night! I love the Fourth of July!

The next Sunday, the boys went back to the baseball diamonds to play some home-run derby and us girls went and watched them.

This year, we had two days of service. The first one was while I was in Utah. They went to the Ronald McDonald house and did some household cleaning. We had our second service day a few weeks later. We went back to the Ronald McDonald house to do some more cleaning, sanding a fence and putting together some furniture. I love that Vivint always does a day of service and gives back to the community.

Brad and the rest of the team got to go bowling after a quick meeting two different afternoons. They won the company's dinner goal, so they decided to use the money to go bowling instead of going to dinner. They had some fun in the arcade after as well.

Kourtney wanted to make a quilt so I told her I'd help her. We bought all the material, and then found out that Kourtney and Ethan were going to leave that weekend. So, we had to get it done really fast, but I think it turned out really cute!

There were a few nights that we had game night. The guys would play Call of Duty, and the girls + Lonny would play the Heads Up game (Ellen's game..) on Lonny's phone.

One day, I felt like Brad needed a little motivation, so I decided to go sell with him! We knocked doors together for about four hours. We got into a lot of good houses, and then finally sold an older couple. Brad was happy I was there so that I could listen to the guy ramble on and on while he did paperwork with the lady. Knocking doors was not nearly as bad as I had remembered from the first time I went with him three years ago. Maybe it was because I chose to go on a day that was overcast and so it wasn't blistering hot.

EVAN TIMOTHY HATCH was born on the 22nd, at 2:30 in the morning. He weighed 7 lbs, 14 oz. He is the cutest thing ever, and I absolutely love him! I loved getting all of the pictures they sent from the hospital. I am so excited for Kylee and Brody to be parents, and for my parents to finally be Grandparents. I'm sorry for the picture overload, but look at him!!!

We went with our friends one night to get frozen custard and it was delicious!!
