Beginning of my Adventure

Sadly, I have not taken many pictures from my nanny adventure yet, but we haven't actually done anything too exciting yet.. and it is only the 3rd day, so I guess this will have to do for now! This is my lovely bedroom and bathroom back in Delaware. I was only there for 2 nights, but I will be back when we are done at their beach house. My sweet little 7 year old moved in with her sister so that I could have my own room.

This is on our way to their beach house on Fisher's Island with the car fully packed. We drove past new york on the way.

On our way to Fisher's Island on the ferry. The girls call that lighthouse the square lighthouse. About 30 cars can sqeeze onto the ferry. Everyone has to back onto it and it was kinda scary to watch because they would get so close to the next car. But I guess that is how they fit everybody.

My darling little bedroom and bathroom at the beach house..

The girls have this dollhouse that I just adore. It is humongous! There are about 9 different rooms that they can remodle and decorate however they want. Those are just a couple of the rooms in the little house. It is actually pretty fun. And I love how old everything is.

We went out on their dock today (which is that far away from their house). The girls like to look for some colored glass to put in a jar and they also like to throw rocks at all of the jelly fish that are right at the top of the water. Aparently they sometimes jump off of their dock, but I think I would be too scared with all the jelly fish I saw today.

I am really loving everything about this summer adventure. All of the families are here now so there are 7 kids total, ranging from 1-11. Both of the other families have nannies as well and I love them both already. It is going to be a great summer. :)

Family Vacation

Beware.. this post has a lot of pictures. I tried to make it easier by doing some collages but it took a long time so they don't look great, sorry! And they go in order, for the most part.

These are some views we saw on the 12 hour drive to Vancouver. I love all the pretty clouds and lots and lots of cool trees. And I thought it was funny how all 7 of us had our own earphones in one time.

We went on a fun bike ride downtown in Portland to have a picnic, play at the waterfall and get breadsticks.

We had fun getting in their pool a few different times, even though it was freezing cold until you swam around for a while and got used to it.

For Father's Day, we all went on an awesome hike before church. It was raining but it was alright since it wasn't too hard and it was the only day it rained on our whole trip.

We did a pretty hard hike one day to the top of Moltnomah Falls, but it was totally worth it. Everything was so pretty with the trees surrounding you. It was awesome.

Todd took us boating and it was sweet because we had the whole lake to ourselves since it was a pretty cold day, and we could ride on the tube without getting super wet because it is so big and doesn't tip over. Only Griffy fell out (twice). Poor kid, I'm sure that water was freezing.

Our family went to the Rose Garden on our way to Cannon Beach. That place was so cool, it had so many roses. It was very pretty.

We had a picnic with a great view of the ocean and played on Indian beach for a while. It was fun to jump on the rocks since it was low tide. We found some cool stuff!

We also had a lot of fun playing in the sand and taking fun pictures.

We went over to Cannon Beach to take some picture... We like haystack rock. :)

We had some fun playing frisbee on the beach, having a fire one night, and getting in the water.

These are just some random photos. Eating at Mo's for dinner, feading the seagulls, our little house- which was a block away from the beach and the eyes.. can you tell which one is Kylee's and which one is mine??

We had a fun scavenger hunt at Cannon Beach, we ate elephant ears, and of course.. I got to talk to Brad a lot! :)

I got to go to Seattle for my first time.

We went to an awesome aquarium there that had octopus, otters, seals, a fish with a missing eye, and jelly fish. (I didn't take a picture of those there, but we did find a dead jelly fish in the sand at Cannon Beach) I had never seen any of those before so it was really fun, and totally worth the $14!

I spent the next 2 days, after my family left, hanging out with the Lake's before I started my nanny adventure. Sadly, I didn't take many pictures. But we did go on a fun 11 mile bike ride to get ice cream cones and play at the park, watched movies, got in the pool, played games and had fun.
Thank you Lake's for letting us stay in your awesome house and for all the fun adventures! You're the best!

Portland & Willmington

Alright, sorry everybody.. but no pictures this time! I haven't been able to get my internet working on my lap top so I cannot upload any pictures. Hopefully next time. I have been so busy for the last 10 days and I love it. The 17-24th was a very fun family vacation to Washington/Oregon. We got to stay at the Lake's awesome house. We had lots of fun going on bike rides, hiking, swimming and just hanging out. My family and I went to Cannon Beach for one night and that was so much fun. Too bad the water had to be freezing cold. Then we spent one night in Seatle and went to an amazing aquarium. My family left to go back home on the morning of the 25th and I got to spend the next 2 days with the Lakes. It was so much fun and felt like old times. We got in the pool lots, watched movies, went on a bike ride and just hung out and had fun. My flight on Sunday was at 6:00am so I had to get up at 4. Luckily I was able to sleep on the plane. I had an hour layover in Salt Lake and then the long, 4 1/2 hour, flight to Philadelphia. They played Valentine's Day so I watched that and wrote in my journal lots. It actually went by pretty fast, luckily. It was crazy to be flying from one end of the United States to the other. The family was there at the airport to meet me and I found them very easily. We drove to their house in Willmington, Delaware and I called my mom and Brad and then we had dinner and just hung out before the girls went to bed. Today I watched the girls and we played life, wii and hide and seek. It has been fun so far. I was a little nervous at first but now that I have gotten to know the family a little better it is ok. And I am sure it will only get better the more I get to know them. We are heading to their beach house on Fisher's Island tomorrow morning so that should be pretty exciting. Hopefully I will have the internet there so that I can upload some pictures.

Birthday/update

I have the best birthday ever, for more than one reason. 1-it is in the summer, I don't think I would like going to school for my birthday. 2-it is almost exactly 6 months after Christmas, so I don't have to wait super long for one or the other. 3-it is usually the perfect weather. and 4-I get to share it with my mom every year! I have the best mom ever, so it is fun to have the same birthday as her.

Opening my new i-pod!

We have taken a picture like this in front of our birthday sign for as long as I can remember.

We had a yummy dinner that Kylee and Brody made for us. The Bundy's, Grandma, Grandpa and Annie joined us for dinner and to hang out afterwards.

I also love that I get to sing happy birthday along with everyone else. We always love to look at each other as we each say each others names while everyone else tries to say both of ours.

It was the best birthday ever! And I got to spend a few hours talking to Brad on skype. I was sad he couldn't be there for my birthday, but I was happy to at least kind of be able to see him. I loved that my birthday was on a Sunday this year since we usually talk on skype on Sunday's and he can talk for longer. It was a great day! Thanks to all of you who wished me a happy birthday!

This little guy, is not my friend. We have a love-hate relationship...

Last week at work, I was using one to cut an apple, and accidentally cut my thumb trying to get it out. On Monday, trying to be more careful with it, I cut my pointer finger. I was left with these pretty marks. However, I do think that they are one of the best things invented, as long as you don't cut your finger using them!

Many of you may know that I love to pack. I have been so excited for the past few weeks for our vacation, and to go nanny, so I told myself that I had to wait till after my birthday to pack. I had my bag all packed and ready to go on Monday and now it is just sitting in my room waiting to go. We leave on Thursday and I am so excited. I will be sad to leave my kids at work, but I just keep telling myself that it is only two months! Plus, I know I will have a blast out there!
